Sommer Motorsports and Chad McCumbee have reached the threshold of their journey to the Myrtle Beach 400. The race weekend is only a few days away and the team has expressed their confidence in the days ahead. “We just recently had a very good test at the race track, and our whole focus was leaving their (Myrtle Beach) with confidence in having the ability to compete up front at the race” said McCumbee. “We feel like we have gotten the car where it needs to be and all that really is ahead of us is a little fine tuning” Chad said again. This race is a homecoming, and for Chad it means a lot of history and accomplishments for himself and his racing career thus far. “I can already feel the excitement that is ahead for everyone involved, I am just glad to be apart of this” said Cody Sommer (Owner and Crew Chief). “Our test showed us that we are definitely contenders and we really just need to cross our t’s and dot our i’s this entire weekend”. The team will be rolling in for practice on Thursday morning of the 20th and showcasing the beginning of what is hoped to be a successful racing weekend.
