New building improving program Written on June 3, 2009, by Administrator.

  

This June 15th the Sommer Motorsports team will be setting up shop in their new facility located just outside of Mooresville, NC.  The program will be adjusting to the 4,000 sq. ft workspace and fab area to improve the competetive edge that the team already has shown.  “The guys are all really excited to move into our new building and keep digging on the task at hand” said Cody Sommer.  It is evident that the move means a lot of work and the team will have to halt racing and testing for a couple of weeks to make the change.  “I really believe it is important to organize and get set up correcty right away, in order to achieve the benefit of this upgrade” said Sommer.  Stay tuned on the move and check out www.codysommer.com and pictures will be posted when available.

The 2009 season is reaching the climax of preseason thunder, and most teams are finally getting there ducks in a row. Sommer Motorsports is proud to announce the launch of their new website brought to you at www.codysommer.com. The website will continue to have the latest updates and info on the team and their progress and plans for the future and beyond. The website contains new photos, new sponsors, and of course a new schedule. The schedule is expected to be a challenging one that the Sommer Motorsports team is highly prepared for. “What better way to announce a great schedule for 2009, than through a New website launch” said Cody Sommer of Sommer Motorsports. “We had a lot of traffic on the website last season and leading up to this season, so we really felt a new look would keep onlookers coming back for more”. The opening race for the team will begin on March. 15th at the Caraway Speedway in Ashebero, NC. McCumbee Ready to Go Written on February 20, 2009, by Administrator.

Sommer Motorsports and Chad McCumbee have reached the threshold of their journey to the Myrtle Beach 400. The race weekend is only a few days away and the team has expressed their confidence in the days ahead. “We just recently had a very good test at the race track, and our whole focus was leaving their (Myrtle Beach) with confidence in having the ability to compete up front at the race” said McCumbee. “We feel like we have gotten the car where it needs to be and all that really is ahead of us is a little fine tuning” Chad said again. This race is a homecoming, and for Chad it means a lot of history and accomplishments for himself and his racing career thus far. “I can already feel the excitement that is ahead for everyone involved, I am just glad to be apart of this” said Cody Sommer (Owner and Crew Chief). “Our test showed us that we are definitely contenders and we really just need to cross our t’s and dot our i’s this entire weekend”. The team will be rolling in for practice on Thursday morning of the 20th and showcasing the beginning of what is hoped to be a successful racing weekend. There are over 120 racers and teams from across the nation expected to contend for the one and only Myrtle Beach 400 Title. For more information on the race weekend events
